I'm a bit confused and keep getting mixed answers, even from Apple support. I recently bought a new computer online and opted for the trade-in, so I have a trade-in kit coming my way. However, I'd prefer to set everything up and bring my old computer directly to the Apple Store for the trade-in instead. My main concern is whether I can receive the credit as a refund on my new computer rather than just getting a gift card for future use. Is this possible?

It's kind of a tricky situation. They used to allow in-store trades for online purchases, but once you start the online trade-in process, it can cause complications if you try to switch it up.
From what I've heard, you have to stick with the online trade-in option you selected when buying your new computer. You can’t switch to an in-store trade-in now; you’ll need to send it back in the box they provided after transferring your data. You’ve got a couple of weeks to send it in, though!
Thank you for clarifying!
Thanks! I definitely don’t want to cause any issues. I’ve seen some nightmare stories about the trade-in process because it’s done through a third party.
