Hey folks! I'm considering changing my current email address that's linked to my Apple ID. I already created a new Apple ID with my preferred email, but I'm unsure how to transfer all my data from the old one to the new one. What can I transfer, and how does this work?

So, here's the deal: when it comes to transferring data between Apple IDs, it’s a bit tricky. Not everything can be transferred automatically. For instance, if you have iCloud Photos set to 'download and keep originals', you can save those to the new Apple ID by enabling iCloud Photos there. Contacts and calendar events can usually migrate, but apps are a different story. If you switch Apple IDs, you might need your old password to update apps or you’ll have to delete and redownload them. It’s technically possible to sync most data, but not seamlessly. Just a heads up: if you haven't yet, consider adding your new email to your existing Apple ID instead. You could keep all your data without the hassle of transferring!
Got it! But how would you actually go about adding a new email to your existing Apple ID and removing the old one afterward?
