I'm in the process of building a new PC and have a brand new NVMe drive that I'm planning to use as my boot drive. However, I also have an older NVMe drive from my previous PC that was used as the boot drive with Windows installed. Is it possible to transfer this old NVMe drive to my new machine? If so, are there any specific configurations or steps I should follow when doing this?

If you're only using the old NVMe for storage, you can just connect it and access the files directly. Just make sure to back up anything important just in case. If you're looking to keep using the same Windows install, that could be tricky since hardware changes may cause activation issues. Best to install a fresh version of Windows on your new boot drive and use the old one purely for data.
Before you move that old NVMe drive to the new PC, think about whether you want to boot from it or just use it for storage. If you're just using it as extra storage, you should be good to go without much fuss. Just plug it in and format it if necessary. But if you ever want to boot from it, you'll need to ensure the new system's BIOS recognizes it and might need to adjust some settings accordingly.
