Can I Upgrade My Lenovo G400s Laptop with an NVMe SSD?

I'm looking into upgrading the SSD in my Lenovo G400s laptop. The hardware manual mentions a PCI Express Mini Card Slot and specifies it as having "1x Wiimax/WIFI" and "1x SSD". I'm trying to figure out whether this means I can install an NVMe SSD, or if I'm limited to something else. Any insights would be appreciated!

Nah, it won't take a regular NVMe. What you want is a specific shorter SSD that looks more like a square. Typically, standard NVMe drives are 2280 size, but you need one that fits like a mini WiFi card instead. Definitely check out the dimensions before buying anything.

I really doubt your laptop can take an NVMe drive since it's from around 2013/14. When they refer to an SSD, they probably mean a standard SATA SSD. Your best bet is to look for something more traditional instead.
