Can I Upgrade to an RTX 5070 for 4K Gaming with My Current Intel i7 7700k?

Hey everyone! I'm currently using an Intel i7 7700k CPU along with a GTX 1080 and I normally get stable frame rates between 60-100 fps at 1080p with low to mid settings. I'm considering upgrading my GPU to an RTX 5070 but I'm curious whether this upgrade will let me play the same games at 4K while still maintaining those frame rates without needing to upgrade my CPU. Any thoughts? Thanks!

Overall, you'll likely see a boost in performance with the RTX 5070 compared to your GTX 1080. While increasing your resolution to 4K does put less stress on the CPU, moving from low or medium graphics to high or ultra might cause some slowdown. You should experience better frames at native 4K, so it's a good upgrade, especially if you're okay lowering graphics settings a bit.
