I have a new 5090 graphics card, but it's not working in my recent computer setup. I'm wondering if I can use the 12-pin connector from my original setup to power the 5090 in another computer that has an 850-watt power supply but doesn't have enough space for the connector. I'm doing this to rule out any mainboard issues since I already sent the 5090 back for an RMA, and they said it was 'fine.' Just to note, the 2080Ti from the computer with the 850 PSU works in both setups without issues.

You can’t use a 12-pin connector for the 5090, as that model actually requires a 16-pin connector. The 12-pin setup is only compatible with the 3000 series graphics. So unfortunately, you'll need to look for a different solution or adapter for your new card.
