I just received a 5080 GPU as a gift and I'm wondering if it will work with my existing PC build, which includes a 3060 Ti. I've added the new GPU to my parts list on PCPartPicker (link included). While I haven't seen any major compatibility issues flagged, I'm curious if I need a new power supply and if upgrading to 32GB of RAM is worthwhile, since I've been feeling constrained by my current 16GB. If there are any other critical parts that I should consider replacing for compatibility or performance, please let me know! Thanks!

Just a heads up, your CPU might bottleneck a bit, but hey, a free GPU is still a great deal! You should still notice a nice boost in games even with your current setup.
You can definitely use the 5080 with your current setup, but make sure you have three 8-pin PCIe connectors for it. It's also good to ask the person who gifted it to you for those cables if you don't have them already!
Thanks a lot! I might just do that. Do you think it’s worth it to upgrade the PSU as well? I heard they recommend at least 850W for the 5080.
You didn't specify what monitor you have, but if it's 1080p, think about upgrading to at least 1440p. It can help reduce bottlenecking by shifting more load to the GPU. That said, an upgrade to your power supply is a must for the 5080, along with extra RAM.
Thanks a ton! I have a 1440p monitor already! I didn’t realize the monitor type affected performance like that—makes sense once you think about it!
Congrats on the new card! You'll be able to max out settings and enjoy ray tracing. If you're gaming at 1440p, you’re good! You might want to look into a 4K monitor down the line, but for now, your current setup should be fine if you lower the GPU clock a bit.
Thanks! I have a 1440p monitor right now. I play a lot of competitive FPS, so I'm wondering how much benefit I'd gain from switching to 4K.
I really appreciate that! I'm so excited about it—I won’t need to upgrade my GPU for a while, so I can focus on improving other parts gradually.
