I recently came across my old iPhone, which I believe is either a 4S or 5. It powers on, but the touchscreen doesn't respond at all. Unfortunately, Siri is disabled as well. Is there any way to connect a keyboard or mouse to it? I really just want to retrieve some old photos and contacts from the device. Also, just to clarify, this is my old phone that's unlocked, so I don't need a passcode.

Unfortunately, older iPhones like the 4S and 5 don't have direct support for Bluetooth keyboards and mice since iOS 13 is the earliest version that offers this. The 4S maxes out at iOS 9.3.6, and the 5 can only go up to 10.3.4. If you're looking to connect something wired, you'd need specific adapters: a 30-pin to USB-A for the 4S or a Lightning to USB-A for the 5. Just keep in mind that you can use either a mouse or a keyboard at one time, but not both unless you manage to find a splitter.
If your iPhone is indeed a 5, then yes, you’re correct that a Lightning cable was introduced with that model. However, keep in mind that using a wired mouse would require you to enable assistive touch first, which isn’t possible without a functioning touchscreen. So, it could be quite tricky!
