I just bought a Gigabyte 9070 XT OC, and it needs 3 8-pin power connectors. The PSU I got only has two spare cables, each with 2 8-pin connectors on one end and 1 on the other, and it doesn't have any extra 8-pin outputs. I'm wondering if I could use a pigtail to connect the second 8-pin, or do I need three separate cables to power the card correctly? I've seen differing advice online – some say it's okay while others warn against it. Ideally, I'd like to avoid buying a new PSU after just getting this one, but I will if I have to. Any thoughts would be really helpful, thanks!

You're good to go! The PSU supports 300W for the two PCIe 8-pin connectors, which is 150W each. It should work just fine connecting those cables. Just arrange the connections in a way that makes sense for your setup.
I encountered the same issue with my 9070 XT. Although the PSU is rated for 375W with 2 PCIe cables, daisy chaining one connector should work fine for regular usage. Just be cautious if you decide to overclock later on, but I doubt you're pushing it that far right now!
I suggest using a 12VHPWR to 2x PCIe connector cable along with your other PCIe cable. No need to grab a new PSU just yet!
Should I just pick one of those cables up at Best Buy? Thanks for the quick answer!
The cables that came in the box include a few options: ATX Cable x1, PCIe (8 PIN to 6+2 PIN) Cable x2, EPS (8 PIN to 4+4 PIN) Cable x2, and a PCIe (16 PIN to 16 PIN) Cable x1. You might not need anything extra!
Thanks for clarifying! I’ll definitely look into finding that 12VHPWR cable or stick with the pigtail if needed.
