Can I Use a USB Stick to Transfer Files if My PC Might Be Infected?

Hey everyone, I've been having some strange temperature issues with my PC. It used to run pretty cool, around 30-40°C unplugged and 40-45°C when plugged in, but recently, after reinstalling TLauncher, I found it downloaded this antivirus program called 360 Total Security, which I ended up deleting. Now it's running way hotter, hitting 80°C at times just while I watch videos, and the fans are super loud. I'm worried that uninstalling that antivirus might have caused some sort of problem because I hardly use my PC for anything risky.

I'm thinking about doing a factory reset since I've got nothing important on my PC; I can back up my files easily. My main concern is that I want to use a USB stick to move some videos and documents from my laptop to my PC. Will that USB get infected with anything from my PC after this situation? Any advice would really help! Sorry if this sounds a bit silly.

First, you definitely want to check your Task Manager for any processes hogging your CPU or RAM. It might just be an airflow issue causing those high temperatures, like dust build-up in the fans or radiator. The fact that your PC only overheats while idle and not during gaming could indicate a heat dissipation problem rather than malware, but definitely keep a close eye on performance too.

True, but remember that some sophisticated viruses can hide from Task Manager. They might lower their workload when they detect you're looking.
