Can I Use an RX 580 with My HP Prodesk 600 G1?

I recently got an RX 580 and a new 550W PSU. I took my PC to an expert for installation, but he claims I can't connect the GPU to my HP Prodesk 600 G1 motherboard and insists I need a new one. It has an x16 slot, so I'm not sure if he's being honest or trying to scam me. Can anyone help clarify this?

Have you thought about getting an adapter to connect your PSU to the motherboard? Also, it would help if you could share a picture of the inside of your case so we can see the setup better. By the way, I have a feeling your motherboard can handle it if it has the x16 slot.

Here's the link to my setup: [https://imgur.com/a/P4z40Tc](https://imgur.com/a/P4z40Tc). Unfortunately, this is the only image I have since my PC is currently with the expert, but he said the motherboard is the issue.

Honestly, if there's an x16 slot, I think you should be good to go. It sounds a bit fishy. Maybe get a second opinion!
