I recently moved into a house that has a coaxial cable running from the ground floor, where my router is, up to my bedroom upstairs. I have a desktop PC without WiFi up there and I'd much prefer a wired connection instead of using a WiFi adapter. Is there a way for me to connect this coaxial cable to my router (Sky) and then to my PC, which only supports ethernet connections? Also, the location where the coaxial cable ends upstairs is different from my PC's location, so I'd need to run an ethernet cable between the two rooms. Also, is coaxial cable actually faster than WiFi or should I just stick with a WiFi adapter?

If you’re gaming or doing heavy downloads, a coaxial connection can definitely give you great speeds – sometimes up to 900 Mbps! Just ensure that you're connecting it through a modem first; the coax cable from your ISP needs a modem to convert the signal to something your router can use. From the modem, you can easily run an ethernet cable to your PC.
