I installed DDR5 RAM in a DDR5 motherboard, and now I want to take that DDR5 and use it in my new PC that has DDR4 slots. Will it work, or could I damage anything?

Honestly, trying to use DDR5 in a DDR4 motherboard is a bad idea. They might have the same pin count, but the key notch difference prevents it from fitting properly. If it did fit somehow, you could seriously break the components.
You won't be able to fit DDR5 RAM into DDR4 slots because the notches are in different places. Even if you somehow forced it in, you'd likely end up damaging either the RAM or the motherboard. It's just not designed to work that way.
It's practically impossible to get DDR5 into a DDR4 slot correctly. You would need to force it, which would damage both the RAM and the motherboard. Just stick with DDR4 for that build.
