Can I Use Desktop GPU Drivers for My Laptop Issues?

Hey everyone! I'm having some trouble with my laptop when gaming. It seems to be using a lot of GPU resources suddenly, dropping my frame rate down to around 10 fps on average. This started happening after I upgraded to Windows 11. Sometimes, the GPU temperature doesn't even show up anymore. I was wondering if installing desktop GPU drivers would help solve these issues. Here are my specs:

- Intel i5-10300H
- 8GB 3200 RAM
- 1 HDD and 1 NVMe SSD
- Intel UHD Graphics as GPU 0
- GTX 1650 as GPU 1
- OS: Windows 11

Thanks for any advice!

Edit: After doing a clean installation of the drivers, the GTX 1650 is now recognized as GPU 0, but the temperature doesn't show in Task Manager. However, it does show up in other monitoring tools when it reaches 60°C. Installing an older driver version seemed to fix some issues.

For most modern setups, laptop and desktop drivers are often the same, so you shouldn’t need to worry about installing desktop drivers specifically. It might not be the driver issue itself causing the performance lag. Just out of curiosity, have you checked for any background processes that might be using up your RAM?

Thanks for the clarification! I’ll definitely look into the background processes.
