Hey everyone, I have a pretty cramped HP desktop that's not great, and I just realized it doesn't come with any PCIe cables. The power supply isn't something I can swap out either. I recently got a Sapphire Radeon R9 270X 2GB HDMI PCIe Graphics Card that needs 2 six-pin PCIe cables. Is there any way I can use it at all, or do I really need those cables for it to work?

Check out the RTX 3050; it's a solid choice that doesn't need PCIe cables either. They typically range from $200 to $300, but you might hunt down a better deal online.
You're going to need those cables to make the GPU work. Without them, it won't get enough power to even turn on! Consider swapping out the power supply if you can, or just using a different GPU that doesn't need additional power connectors.
A decent alternative would be to grab something like the A380 or just look for a budget option that doesn't need a power connector. They're usually around $100 and will perform better than the R9 270.
You might have to settle for a GPU that doesn’t require a power connector, like the 1050 Ti. The R9 270X won't boot up without those six-pin cables plugged in. Just a heads up!
