I'm getting a new computer and I'm curious if I can simply transfer my current SSD to it without needing to buy a new one. It should fit properly and be compatible, but I'm wondering if there's anything specific I need to do for it to work. I'm not worried about keeping any files or data on it.

Yep, if the connection type is the same, you should be good to go! Just double-check that the drivers are compatible too.

In general, you'll keep your files, but it's always a good idea to back up important data just in case something goes wrong during the transfer. Better safe than sorry!

It’ll definitely work, but I recommend booting into safe mode during the first startup. Also, keep in mind that if you're using an OEM license, you might need a new key since those are tied to the motherboard they were activated on.
