I just got my Asus RX 9070 XT today, but my new 850w power supply hasn't arrived yet and I'm currently using a 650w Seasonic Focus GX. I'm curious if it's safe to test the GPU with this PSU. I've read that it's better to use three separate PCIe cables for it, but I only have two. What could go wrong if I connect one cable using a daisy chain? My CPU is a Ryzen 5 3600.

Just to clarify, what CPU are you using?
While the card should work without issues, I'd avoid running anything graphically intense for long periods just to be safe. Your PSU might struggle under heavy load, causing an unintentional reboot, which is the worst that might happen. The extra headroom from that 850W is definitely worth it, though!
I've been running the RX 9070 XT on a 650w PSU without problems. Just to be safe, I set a -10% power limit after a few days, and honestly, it doesn't impact performance much while keeping things stable.
It should work just fine! The worst-case scenario is that your computer might shut down if it lacks enough power, but with a good unit like your Seasonic, I doubt that will happen. They're known for their reliability and performance.
