I'm in the process of building my new PC and just received my components, but I'm still waiting on my RAM. I was thinking of using four 2GB RAM sticks from my previous build to get it started up with a Ryzen 7 9800X3D processor. Is this a good idea, or could it create any issues? I plan to upgrade the RAM next month, but I want to know if I can at least boot the system with this old RAM.

It's a no-go with those 2GB sticks; they won't fit your new motherboard, and even if they did, you’d be bottlenecking performance big time. Seriously consider upgrading to 16GB or more when you can. Check for combo deals online to save some cash!
I doubt those 2GB sticks are DDR5; it’s much more common to see DDR4 or even DDR3 in older builds. You definitely shouldn't force those into your new motherboard. Save your time and invest in a quality 16GB stick or maybe a dual-channel setup for optimal performance!
Honestly, the RAM from your old rig likely won't be compatible with your new motherboard unless you confirm it’s DDR4 or DDR5. I'd suggest going for at least a single 16GB stick or a dual-channel setup with 2x8GB. This way your Ryzen 7 can communicate efficiently, giving you a smoother experience.
Using those old 4x2GB sticks is probably not going to work, especially since your Ryzen setup likely needs DDR4 or DDR5 RAM to operate. DDR3 or other previous generations won't fit at all. Also, keep in mind that 8GB is really not enough for gaming these days; you’ll need at least 16GB for a better experience with modern titles.
