Can My PC Handle Frequent Power Outages Like My PS4?

I'm transitioning from a PS4 to a PC this summer, but I'm concerned about the frequent power outages in my city, which are pretty common for my area. I've had my PS4 for three years, and it survived at least 30 power cuts without a hitch. With the heat in summer, outages tend to spike, so I'm worried about how my new PC will hold up. Losing a PC that's a significant investment for me would be heartbreaking—but I'm more worried about the hardware itself rather than things like save files. How resistant will the components be compared to the PS4 during these outages? I can't afford an uninterruptible power supply (UPS) since that would take a big chunk out of my budget, so I'm looking for advice on what to do about power protection.

Investing in a surge protector is a must, at the very least. And make sure you have a solid power supply unit (PSU) as well. It'll help safeguard against sudden surges when the power goes out and comes back on.
