Can My RTX 5080 Handle 4K 240Hz and 4K 120Hz Displays Together?

I'm having an issue with my PC setup where I can't use both my displays at their max settings. I have an ASUS PG32UCDM monitor and a 77-inch Sony Bravia 8 TV connected. When I set the ASUS monitor to 4K 240Hz and try to set the TV to 4K 120Hz, my system crashes and I have to restore Windows. To avoid crashes, I have to run the TV at 4K 60Hz or 1080p 120Hz despite having high-end specs with an RTX 5080 and using a certified HDMI 2.1 cable in the right port on the TV. Is this behavior normal?

I’d suggest trying out different driver versions. Multi-monitor setups often cause issues with NVIDIA cards.

I'm quite new to this whole PC scene. How do I check which driver version I'm using, and how can I install a different one?

Is it just shutting off, or are you getting a blue screen? Also, what's the power supply unit (PSU) you're using?

The system completely freezes, including the case lighting, for about two minutes, then restarts but won’t boot, forcing me to restore everything. I’m using a Lian Li Edge 1000W Gold PSU.

To clean up your drivers, try using a program called Display Driver Uninstaller to completely wipe the drivers. Don't let Windows install drivers on restart, and download the latest one from NVIDIA's site instead. Hopefully, it’s just a software glitch that can be easily fixed. Good luck, OP!

Using two 4K displays with high refresh rates should be okay. However, the RTX 5080 might struggle to maintain 240Hz without scaling. It could also be a problem with your motherboard not handling the GPU properly on the PCIe 5.

I'm on an ROG Strix X870-A motherboard, which I thought would manage this fine. Not sure what's causing the issue.

It shouldn't crash like that. Try disabling any overclocks, update your drivers, and check your power cables. Also, take a look in the event viewer for any errors.

I've checked the drivers and cables; everything seems fine. Are there specific drivers you recommend that could fix the problem?
