Hey everyone, I need some advice because I'm really worried about something that happened when I was 14. I took some nude pictures and saved them privately on Snapchat. When I turned 15, my parents took away my phone and I ended up breaking my SIM card. Now, I don't have access to my Snapchat account anymore, and I'm scared that if someone else gets my old SIM card, they could log into my Snapchat and see those pictures. I know that if a SIM is inactive for a long time, it can be reassigned to someone new.
It's been about a year since I last used the SIM and I see that no one is currently assigned to it—which makes me wonder how long Airtel holds on to inactive numbers. I have considered trying to recover that SIM but since it was in my parents' name, I'm nervous about what they'll think if I tell them. My parents have ID documents like their Aadhar card and PAN available at home, so I'm not sure how to go about this.
So, I need advice: Is it possible for someone to log into my Snapchat with that SIM if they get it assigned? And if I try to recover it, will Airtel notify my parents? What should I do?

I think you should definitely reach out to Snapchat for account recovery; they might help you get back in. But don’t stress too much—the chances of someone logging into your account just because they have your old SIM are super low.
You really don't need to stress too much. For someone to access your Snapchat, they would need your username and password to log in, not just the SIM. Since you didn't link your account to an email or set up 2-step verification, they can't get in just by having the SIM. Your pictures are safer than you think!
Thanks! That really eases my mind. I just didn't want someone to be able to see those pictures.
Honestly, I wouldn’t worry too much about it. Generally, just having your old SIM doesn’t give someone access to your account. It’s great to hear no one has claimed the number yet, but if you want to be safe, sure, you could ask Snapchat to help recover your account. Just be careful moving forward!
Right! Plus, they won’t notify your parents either. You’re good.
