I'm considering an upgrade from my small 22 inch monitor to something larger and better, as I've got quite a backlog of games to enjoy. I'm curious if the 9060 XT and 5060 Ti, which are recommended as 1080P GPUs, can also perform well at 1440P. I'll be playing some upcoming AAA titles in 2025 and older ones like Genshin Impact and Honkai. Given that people generally suggest more than 8GB VRAM now, and the 9060 XT and 5060 Ti are among the cheapest 16GB options, is 1440P still a viable choice with these cards? I'm looking mainly at action-adventure games with solid storytelling.

Sure, you can run 1440P on those cards, but don’t expect max settings—not for all games anyway. You’d definitely get a better experience overall if you aim for 1080P, especially since you’re looking for budget cards. But if you want to give 1440P a shot, these cards can handle it well enough in many situations!
Especially with the price difference between 1080P and 1440P displays in your area!
Honestly, I think both the 9060 XT and 5060 Ti are capable of handling 1440P surprisingly well! I've been playing a lot with my 9060 XT at that resolution and I usually get around 80-100 FPS in most modern AAA titles. Some demanding games do need a bit of tweaking, but overall, you shouldn't have any major issues if you're okay with adjusting some settings.
Totally agree! I’ve seen those cards crush 1440P. It's a solid choice for immersive single-player titles.
I managed to run Cyberpunk at 1440P with my 3060 Ti, so I’d imagine the 9060 XT does better.
It really depends on the game and what settings you prefer. For less demanding titles or action-adventure games, you'll likely be just fine. But keep in mind that more demanding titles might require some compromises. Just be ready to adjust if you run into performance issues!
That's true! Many modern games require optimal settings unless you utilize upscaling methods, which help pump up performance.
And keep an eye out for performance patches as games are updated; they can significantly improve optimization!
If you adjust some graphic settings, 1440P should be totally doable. Don't expect to max everything out, but you definitely can enjoy your games without too much sacrifice on quality. Most players can't even tell the difference between high and ultra settings unless they're inspecting every detail closely!
Right? I've played older games at 1440P on lower settings, and the experience was still awesome!
Exactly! Just don't fall into the trap of thinking you need ultra settings for a good time.
True! In the long run, the upgrade might be worth it, especially if you're planning on sticking with these cards for a while.
