I'm looking to upgrade my pre-built PC from 8GB of RAM to 32GB because I'm getting into modded Minecraft and I need the extra power. I see there's an empty RAM slot, so it seems doable. However, I'm a bit lost when it comes to the implications of this upgrade. Specifically, will my power supply be impacted significantly enough to cause me to need a new one? I have no idea where my power supply is located or what model I have. Is this a concern I should be worried about?

If you know the exact model of your PC, just ask something like: 'I have a [brand] desktop model #123456789 and want to upgrade to 32GB of RAM. Will it be supported?' Just make sure to be specific in your question.
Before you buy new RAM, make sure to locate your power supply and check its specifications. Knowing what you're working with is crucial, so that should be your first step!
If you're unsure about your PC specs, try downloading CPU-Z from CPUID.com. It can provide all the detailed info you need. The power supply won't affect your RAM upgrade since RAM doesn't consume that much power.
Make sure the new RAM matches the type and speed your motherboard supports. Check the motherboard's QVL (Qualified Vendor List) to find compatible options for 100% assurance.
The power supply isn't really related to your RAM upgrade. It's more about the motherboard and CPU. If you can share the model of your PC or some pictures, we can help you better!

That's not a good idea. Just ask your question here; we can figure it out together.
