Can You Hack RFID Tags for Free Stuff?

I'm really curious about the possibility of putting some sort of "malware" on an RFID tag, like an empty card. Is it feasible to use this for getting free items from vending machines or Chuck E. Cheese games? I have an NFC editor, but I wonder if it would actually work. Also, is there any actual malware that can mess with devices receiving these signals?

RFID technology typically works as a one-way system. These cards mainly serve as a way to confirm that the holder is present. When you buy or win something, it simply updates the information tied to that card—like adding or removing funds. Unless you have direct access to the system that manages those cards, you can't change the amounts. They essentially act more like an ID number than a storage device. Just keep that in mind!

Just a heads up, I'm not looking to cause any trouble, but who wouldn't mind snagging some free snacks, right? But as for manipulating things, I've seen the Flipper Zero being used to interact with game systems. So, wouldn't it be possible to refill a game card and use it repeatedly? That seems like a gray area to explore!
