I've noticed a lot of discussion about not using four RAM sticks in dual channel configurations. I'm curious if there are any fake RAM sticks available that could just be used to fill in the empty slots on my motherboard. Is there such a thing?

I think the reasons against using four RAM sticks revolve around stability and performance. Quad channel setups, especially with DDR5, can be pretty finicky. Most CPU memory controllers also struggle with four sticks, leading to lower base clock speeds just to get the system to boot, which can hinder overall performance.
I've been running four sticks of RAM on my x670e-e with a Ryzen 9 7900x. Am I doing this wrong? Just trying to figure out if I need to reconsider my setup!
Is your memory running at base clocks? That could be a big factor in how it's performing!
Yeah, there are actually some fake RAM sticks out there! For instance, Corsair has these "RGB Enhancement Kits" that are essentially just RGB sticks without any real RAM capabilities. They're a neat way to add a visual element without actually contributing to performance.
Oh wow, didn't know that! Total gimmicky garbage, but hey, if you want some flashy lights, it could be an easy solution!
Got it! So, it's not just about having enough slots but how the system manages them.
