Can’t Access BIOS After Upgrading My CPU and Motherboard

I recently upgraded my computer with a Ryzen 5 5600X, 32GB Kingston FURY DDR4 RAM, and two motherboards (first an ASUS TUF GAMING A520M-PLUS II that I returned due to issues, and now an ASUS PRIME B550M-K ARGB). However, I'm unable to access the BIOS. I suspect it's not registering my keyboard since the numlock and caps lock LEDs aren't lighting up, and I've tried several different keyboards. Everything is connected, and I've even tested my old GPU, but I still see no splash screen when I turn on the PC. Interestingly, when I unplug the HDMI cable, the screen detects it, but that's about it. My current GPU is an RX 580.

I just upgraded mine too! It wouldn’t start until I rearranged my RAM. It finally posted when I used one stick in the B2 slot specifically. Also, don’t forget that turning your PC off three times in a row can sometimes trigger it to auto-boot into BIOS. Oh, and if you're using a wireless keyboard, swap it for a wired one to make sure it's recognized.

I'll try switching the RAM around to see if that helps.

Have you tried using the command 'shutdown /r /fw' in CMD? If you can't access BIOS at all though, that won't help. Also, I had a similar issue when I upgraded, and it turned out switching up the RAM worked wonders for me—sometimes just using one stick or changing slots can fix the issue. Give it a shot!

I can't access BIOS, so that command won't help.

If you've tried all those solutions and still can't figure it out, there's a high chance that the motherboard or CPU might have an issue. Have you checked if they work fine with your old parts? That might help isolate the problem even further.

You should definitely be able to access the BIOS even without a keyboard or mouse connected. Try booting the system with just the motherboard and RAM connected to rule out any other issues. Sometimes starting barebones can help troubleshoot if there's a conflicting component.

Just a heads up, if the fans on your RX 580 aren't spinning, that might also hint at a power issue or that the GPU isn't functioning properly. When I put in my old GPU, all the fans spun perfectly, so it may be worth checking the power connections and reseating it.
