Hi everyone! I recently bought an HP Pavilion PC with Windows 10 to dive back into my favorite old point-and-click games. I tried installing the physical version of "Secret Files 2: Puritas Cordis," and the installation went smoothly. However, when I attempt to launch the game, I get a message saying I need to insert the original DVD, even though it's already in the drive. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the game and tried running it as an administrator. I even reached out to the game's publisher, but their website doesn't help, and I'm feeling pretty stuck. I've heard that it might be a compatibility issue since Windows 10 no longer supports the SafeDisc program used by older games. I really want to play my original DVDs and I don't want to hack the game or buy a digital version. Does anyone have ideas on how to make this work? Thanks!

Getting old games to work on modern Windows can be tricky, especially since many of them used older DRM that isn't supported anymore. If you want an easy fix, re-purchasing the game on platforms like Steam or GOG is usually your best bet, and it's generally around $10.

I appreciate your suggestion, but I mentioned I'm not looking to buy digital copies. I have tons of physical games and rebuying all would cost a fortune. It's frustrating to pay twice!
