Help! My PC Won’t Boot After CPU Mishap

I was using my PC just a couple of hours ago when it unexpectedly shut down. I tried to turn it back on, and while it powered up, I got no display, and my keyboard wasn't functioning. I've already reset the CMOS twice, reinserted the RAM sticks in different slots, and made sure everything was properly plugged in, but nothing worked. I noticed a red CPU light on the motherboard. After some research, I decided to remove the CPU to clean it, but I ended up dropping it and bending some pins. Now my PC won't power on at all. Did I break my CPU? Can a faulty CPU prevent the motherboard from booting? I'm really confused about why my PC was turning on with a red CPU light before and now it won't start at all. Any advice would be appreciated!

Honestly, the motherboard probably isn’t the problem here, but the bent pins will definitely cause issues. You'll need a new CPU that has the correct pins.

If the CPU pins are bent, you might be in trouble. That usually means the CPU is no longer usable...

So I need to replace the CPU? My PC isn't completely toast, right?

It sounds like the motherboard could still work, but that CPU is likely ruined unless you can carefully fix the pins. On the bright side, this could be a good reason to upgrade both your CPU and motherboard if you're up for it! Just be more careful next time when handling the CPU.
