Choosing a User-Friendly Linux Distro for an Older PC

I'm building a new PC for my workplace since we're currently using an old Chromebook. While I have some experience with Ubuntu from my younger days, I also have a 30+ year Linux expert available to help set things up. The goal is to find a Linux distribution that's easy for everyone in the office to use without requiring a lot of setup or maintenance from me. We mainly work with documents, PDFs, and image editing, so GIMP would be great for that. Currently, we use Google Workspace for storage and mostly work online due to our Chromebook situation. The new PC's specifications are still unknown (it's quite old), but I'll be upgrading the drive. I'm seeking a user-friendly OS that minimizes maintenance for a machine that's at least a decade old.

You might want to check out Zorin or Linux Mint. Both are user-friendly and could work well, especially if your machine is around 10 years old. Just keep in mind, if it's a really old setup, you may be looking at 32-bit support, which narrows down your options a bit.

Right! I'm hoping it was at least semi-recent when we got it, but I still have older builds I can pull from if needed.

But honestly, I doubt 32-bit PCs were still being sold as of 2016. But who knows? Time flies!
