I'm currently using a MacBook Air M3 from 2024, and I've been enjoying Safari. However, I've been experiencing issues with it loading various websites, including Reddit which seems to stop loading completely sometimes. On the other hand, Chrome works perfectly for me—everything loads super fast with no issues. I have a clean setup with just IE and an adblocker, no extra add-ons. My main question is whether using Chrome still affects the battery life and performance on my MacBook Air. Thanks for any insights!

If you're looking for alternatives, I also recommend trying Brave. It's based on Chromium but is much lighter on resources and focuses on privacy. I switched back to Safari after trying different browsers, and honestly, it has been smooth sailing for me with minimal ad blocker settings.
Don't forget about Firefox! It's another solid choice that performs well without putting too much strain on your laptop.
I primarily use Safari without any issues on websites, including Reddit. Have you tried clearing your browsing data? It can really help resolve those loading problems, especially after some time.
Reddit seems to be the only site I'm having trouble with, though.
I switched back to Safari from Chrome too, and it's been great! I use 1Blocker now, and it works well without causing site loading problems, unlike some other ad blockers I tried before that slowed things down.
I have both Adblock Pro and Adguard. Maybe I should try just using 1Blocker instead?
Yes, using Chrome can still impact battery life on a MacBook Air. Safari is generally more optimized for macOS, so it might handle loading websites better without draining your battery as much. If you're having persistent loading issues, it might be worth looking into clearing your cache or trying some troubleshooting steps for Safari.
I’ve noticed that Safari sometimes struggles with specific sites but usually runs well otherwise.
Does Brave have similar battery issues like Chrome? Also, what do you mean by 'Safari’s nav'? I’m curious!
