I'm about to finish building my new PC and need to decide on a graphics card. I was initially set on getting the RTX 5070 Ti, but now I'm considering the AMD RX 9070 XT after doing some research. The RTX 5070 Ti from Gigabyte with 16GB GDDR7 is priced at €939.90, while the RX 9070 XT ELITE with 16GB GDDR6 is a more affordable €763.90, and I really love its design.
I plan to use my PC mainly for gaming at 1440p, which I've heard the AMD card does particularly well in terms of price-to-performance. I'm just not sure if spending the extra on the RTX 5070 Ti would be a better choice in the long run. I'd appreciate any recommendations or thoughts you all might have! Here's the rest of my build:
- AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D 4.7/5.2GHz
- ASUS TUF GAMING B850-PLUS WIFI
- Corsair Vengeance RGB DDR5 6000MHz 32GB
- Crucial T500 2TB SSD M.2 PCIe 4.0
- Crucial P3 Plus 1TB PCIe M.2 SSD
- Arctic Liquid Freezer III Pro 360 ARGB Black
- Corsair RM850x ATX 3.1 Power Supply

The RX 9070 XT hands down! If you want more features like advanced ray tracing and upscaling support, then the RTX 5070 Ti is there, but for 1440p, the 9070 XT should suffice just fine.
Honestly, the RX 9070 XT offers a fantastic price-to-performance ratio right now. If you're looking to save some cash, it's definitely the way to go for 1440p gaming.
Best value is definitely the 9070 XT. If you’re after slightly better ray tracing and upscaling, the RTX would be a choice, but honestly at 1440p, you won't miss out on those features nearly as much as at 4K.
Thanks for the input! Just wondering, though, wouldn’t it be worth the extra for the RTX 5070 Ti with DLSS 4 and ray tracing capabilities?
