Hey everyone! I'm looking to upgrade my old 2070, and I'm considering either the 4070 Super or the RX 9070. My PSU is 650W, so both cards are compatible. The issue I'm facing is that in my area, 4070 Supers are priced at $580-600 with almost two years of warranty included, while the RX 9070 is going for $800. The RX 9070 has the advantage of a newer architecture and more VRAM, but I'm not sure if that justifies the extra $200. I usually game at 1440p, and I'm particularly excited about Monster Hunter: World and Stalker 2. What do you all think? Any suggestions would be really appreciated!

Honestly, I'd go with the 4070 Super. The RX 9070 isn't worth that high price tag. For 580-600 bucks, the 4070 is a great deal!
It really depends on your future plans. If you plan to game at 4K later on, the 9070's extra VRAM will be helpful. But at 1440p, the 4070 Super can deliver enough performance for the games you mentioned without needing to shell out the extra cash.
I'm not thinking about 4K just yet, so the 4070 might suit me better for now.
If it helps, I've swapped my 4070 Super for the RX 9070, and while it's a tough call at 1440p, the extra performance does help keep the frame rates smooth in demanding games. But if saving $200 is important to you, the 4070 Super is still an excellent choice for now! Just be mindful about VRAM for long-term use.
Good to know! I'll definitely weigh that in as I make my decision.
For 1440p gaming, the 4070 Super is a better choice right now. Sure, you get more performance with the 9070, but it's not $200 better, especially considering NVIDIA has some solid features and driver support.
Yeah, I’ve heard about their drivers causing problems lately too!
I upgraded to the 4070 Super recently and I love it! Handles all games smoothly at 1440p with high settings, and for my budget, it was the right call. Just 12GB of VRAM works fine for now, and I'll upgrade my system in a couple of years anyway.
That’s great to hear! Sounds like it fit your needs perfectly.
That sounds solid, thanks for the input!
