Choosing the Best Monitor for My New PC

I recently bought a pre-built computer from Costco with a 5080 graphics card and now I'm on the hunt for a new monitor to go with it. I currently have two 27" 4K 60Hz monitors, but I'm thinking about upgrading my main monitor to something with a higher refresh rate. I've looked at several reviews from places like RTINGS, Wirecutter, and PCGamer. The general consensus seems to point to OLED high refresh monitors as the top choice. I'm leaning towards a few MSI models because I've found some good prices on refurbished options. Here are my favorites:

1. MSI MAG 271QPX QD-OLED E2 27" for $360.
2. MSI MPG 271QRX QD-OLED 27" for $510 (has KVM functionality).
3. MSI MPG-272URX QD-OLED 27" for $720 (offers 4K resolution, G-Sync support, and DisplayPort 2.1).

I have a few questions that I'd love feedback on:
1. Is anyone actually gaming in 4K at high refresh rates? I've only just started using my new PC, and I suspect 240Hz at 2K is probably all I can realistically get for now. Is 4K worth the price upgrade, especially since I work from home occasionally?
2. How important is G-Sync? The lower-priced monitors seem to lack that feature.
3. Am I overlooking any crucial details?
4. If you think I should consider an ultrawide monitor, I'd love to hear your thoughts. I'm not too interested in the giant 57" 4K ultrawides but could think about a 34" or 49". With my dual monitor setup, I usually only use the second one occasionally. Thanks for the help!

I’d say go for an ASUS OLED 4K if you can find it for around $250 with 144Hz. Amazing value for what you get. Plus, that refresh rate is perfect for gaming!

I haven't come across anything like that in my searches. If you have a specific link for that monitor, I’d love to see it!

When it comes to choosing between 4K and a higher refresh rate, it really depends on your priorities. If you want sharper visuals—especially for work—you might want to go with the 4K monitor. You could always drop the resolution while gaming to boost frame rates.
As for G-Sync, it's great for minimizing screen tearing when your frame rate is unstable, and many monitors work with it, even without official certification. Just keep in mind that OLEDs are amazing right now, but do consider the potential for burn-in if you're using static images a lot.
Also, for ultrawides, you might want to check out something like the MSI 341CQPX if you prefer a wider view but are okay with a lower refresh rate.

4K is definitely helpful for work, especially if you’re used to higher resolutions. I've noticed that 2K can sometimes feel lacking in pixel density, especially on larger screens.
And yes, G-Sync is super helpful in practice, even if it doesn't have a certification.
