I'm looking to replace my aging PC setup—currently using a Z170 motherboard with an i7 6700k processor—as it's no longer supported, and my usage has evolved into more creative tasks such as 3D rendering in AutoCAD. My new build needs to handle latency-sensitive games like CS:S and CS2, as well as mainstream titles like Call of Duty and Battlefield, while also being robust enough for heavy 3D rendering of large architectural models. I already have some components ready to go: a 1500W power supply, an AMD 9950X3D CPU, 32GB of 6000MHz RAM, and an RTX 5070ti GPU. I'm on the hunt for a motherboard that's somewhat "future-proof" (if that's even a real thing!), with a good layout, sound, connectivity options, and considerations for latency and power. I've been overwhelmed by the selection of X870 and X870E models post-CES and looked into a few pricey options like the Gigabyte X870E Aero Wood X3D, Gigabyte X870E Master X3D, and MSI X870E Carbon Wifi, but I'm open to any suggestions. My budget is around $300 to $600.

Have you considered if there are any must-have features of the X870E chipset that a cheaper B850 motherboard might not offer? Sometimes a more affordable option could do the job just fine without breaking the bank!

I don’t have any specific needs for the X870E, honestly. I'm a bit overwhelmed and might have been swayed by hype. Perhaps a B850 board would suffice after all.
