Hey everyone! I'm in the process of building a PC with a 9800x3D and a 5090, and I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed when it comes to choosing a power supply. A lot of the models I was considering are currently out of stock, which is frustrating. I've looked at the HX1200i, which seems impressive but comes with a hefty price tag. Then there's the RM1200, which is more affordable but only has a gold rating. I'm also curious if I should specifically look for one with a native 12-pin connector or if that's not a big deal. Any suggestions or advice would be awesome!

I've been using the Corsair Shift PSU and it's been solid for me. I grabbed it directly from their site and it hasn't let me down yet!
Dude, the Corsair RM series is legendary! You can't go wrong with it, just go for it! It's reliable and well-reviewed.
Check out this resource—it's super helpful: [Link to the spreadsheet]. Based on that, both the RM1200x Shift and HX1200i are A+ rated. But if the HX costs an extra $100, you should really think about whether that platinum rating is worth it for your build.
Thanks for sharing! It looks like both are great options. Do you think the efficiency difference would actually impact performance much?
