Hey everyone, I have a bit of a situation. A friend at Intel bought a 14900K for me, but it seems like it has a degradation issue that's qualifying it for a replacement program. The problem is, I might have thrown away the packing slip or invoice. I'm planning to reach out to him to see if he can find an email invoice or access it through the employee online store. Here's where it gets tricky: I shared the serial number with an Intel support rep, and they said it looks like an engineering sample. But this was supposed to be a brand new CPU, shipped in a sealed retail box! Is it possible that CPUs bought through Intel's employee program are labeled as engineering samples for some reason? Or could it be a mistake on the rep's part? I appreciate any insights!

You should definitely ask your friend about it! Since he works at Intel, he might have the right info and could help you out.
Have you thought about your friend doing the RMA for you? It might be easier for him since he has access to all the internal processes.
I will definitely ask him! Just gotta wait for his response; he's a bit slow on texts.
Yeah, I'm going to! Just waiting on him to reply.
