Concerns about my AIO cooler showing high temperatures

I recently built a new PC with a 9800X3D and RTX 5080, and everything was running smoothly until yesterday. When I booted up, the system felt really slow, and it shut down shortly after. On the second boot, the same issue happened, but by the third boot, it was back to normal. However, I noticed really high temperatures—around 95°C—right on startup, which worried me. The temps do drop after a couple of minutes, but I can't help but be anxious. My AIO cooler is the ARCTIC Liquid Freezer III 360 A-RGB. Is it failing, or is something else going on?

It sounds strange that your temps hit 95°C right off the bat. Have you checked the thermal paste? Reapplying it could help, and also make sure all your fans are connected properly. Sometimes it’s the simplest things!

That does make sense. I’ll check the thermal paste this weekend to see if that helps.

First things first, don't panic! If your AIO fails, your CPU has built-in protection, so it should be fine. Still, definitely contact Arctic for a warranty; they often have advance replacement options.

Yeah, I agree! It's good to know the CPU will protect itself. Just make sure to check that your cooling setup is all good too.

I totally get your hesitation with AIO coolers. If you think it’s not working right from the start, it might be wise to have a backup plan with air cooling, just in case this one doesn't hold up.

I've definitely had issues with AIO coolers before; they can be hit or miss. Have you checked the BIOS for fan and pump settings? Sometimes it's just a matter of tweaking things a bit.
