Hey everyone! I'm planning to upgrade my PC from an AM4 setup to AM5, and I need some help making a decision. I'm looking at two CPUs: the Ryzen 7 7800X3D priced at €380 and the Ryzen 7 7700, which is €223. I'm pairing this with an RX 7900 XT and I want to game at 2K resolution. I also need advice on motherboards—should I go with B850 or B650? For B850, I'm considering the Asrock Livemixer or the MSI Gaming Plus. For B650, I'd choose the Asus Gaming TUF B650-E or MSI Gaming Plus. What do you all think? Is it worth it to go for B850 or should I stick with B650 for a setup I want to last at least 5 years?

Before you decide, could you tell us what CPU you're currently using on AM4? That might help with the context. Are you feeling held back by your current setup?
I'd recommend going for the MSI B850 motherboard! I've heard great things about it, and it’ll pair nicely with the X3D. Plus, the X3D has some fantastic specs and is more energy efficient than the 7700. Gamers will definitely need those extra cores in the coming years since games are becoming more CPU-intensive. Just a heads-up though, make sure your PSU can handle the power needs—crunch those numbers to avoid any issues down the line!
