I'm dealing with a frustrating issue on my Lenovo laptop where the asterisk symbol (*) keeps spamming while I'm logged out of my account. This means I can't even type my password to log in. I've tried a bunch of things, like rebooting, entering safe mode, changing my password, and even physically cleaning the key by removing it. I'm kind of panicking here because I've also been told to go into Device Manager to delete the keyboard, but I can't do that without being logged in. If anyone has any suggestions, I would really appreciate it!

It sounds like you might have a stuck key, which is pretty common. Try pressing down on all your keys a few times to see if you can free one that's stuck. Also, make sure there's nothing sitting on the keyboard that could be causing this issue. Sometimes, even just a little crumbs can cause weird keyboard behavior! Good luck!
I get that this is stressful, especially when you can't access your device! It's essential to see if cleaning any of the keys helps, especially around the Shift and backspace keys. Also, if you're able to access recovery options, that might help reset the keyboard settings.
Have you checked if the Shift or 8 key might be stuck? Since holding those together makes an asterisk, it could be that. If you're able, check if you can use another keyboard temporarily or even boot it up in a different mode if possible. Hope you solve this soon!
