I recently played Minecraft Bedrock online with a friend who recommended I download the Horion Client. I downloaded the injector executable file, and when I double-clicked it, a window popped up prompting me to inject the client. However, nothing was actually installed yet because I hadn't clicked the inject button. I noticed that upon clicking inject in a virtual machine, it tried to download a DLL from a server, which I could spot in the %temp% files. I checked the injector file on VirusTotal and got 14 out of 72 positive results, while major antivirus programs like Microsoft marked it as safe. I also tested the DLL and got only 3 out of 72 for that. My question is, since I only ran the executable but didn't click inject, do I still have malware on my PC, or do I need to actually hit inject for the download to happen?

It's a good idea to be cautious with downloads like that. Generally, if you didn't press inject, you shouldn't have anything installed yet. The injector itself could still be a risk, though, especially since it has mixed results on VirusTotal. Best practice is to uninstall any suspicious files and run a full virus scan just to be safe!
The injector executable can be risky, especially since it’s meant to download additional files after you click inject. If it didn’t do anything when you were offline, that’s a good sign. Still, if you’re unsure, it’s best to avoid running files you don’t fully trust. Consider running malware detection software anyway, just to cover your bases!
