Hey everyone, I recently built a gaming PC and everything was working perfectly after I installed Windows and played some games. However, the next day I started experiencing major stuttering during gameplay, where FPS would fluctuate drastically. At one point, Fortnite dropped to a crazy 1 FPS. I also noticed a buzzing sound that seems to coincide with the stuttering, which I think is coil whine from the GPU. When the stuttering occurs, my GPU utilization drops from 99% to 73%, and the buzzing stops simultaneously. I'd love to hear your thoughts on what might be going on. Thanks in advance!

First, try this: unplug your PC, remove the graphics card, and check for any burns on the pins or where it connects to the motherboard. If everything looks good, reattach it—sometimes it's just a matter of a loose connection or fitment issue.
It sounds like you may have a defective graphics card. While it's not super common, issues like this do happen, and that's why warranties exist! You might want to consider returning it to the retailer for a replacement. As for the power supply, it doesn't seem likely that it's the culprit here.
Agreed. I think a replacement might be the best path forward.
Okay, I might head to Micro Center for an exchange. Fingers crossed it sorts out the issue! I was worried the PSU could be faulty for not providing steady power to the GPU, but I’m not sure.
Update: I pulled the graphics card and switched to integrated graphics, but I'm still getting stuttering 629;
If it's still stuttering even without the dedicated GPU, I’d say it’s likely not a hardware issue with either your GPU or PSU. Is this a new OS installation?
Check this link out—someone else had the exact same problem! Has anyone else run into this before?
That sounds like a good idea! I'll check that out now, thanks!
