Could the Previous Homeowner’s Network Setup Be Blocking My Internet Service?

I recently moved into a new place and I'm trying to set up my Spectrum Internet service. However, I'm having trouble connecting my modem to any of the cable outlets in the house. I posted a picture earlier of the network setup left by the previous homeowner, which looks pretty complicated. Could this setup be blocking my ability to access the internet? I don't even see where the cable outlet connects, and some equipment might be hidden behind things. I have a technician scheduled to come tomorrow, but I'm wondering if there's anything I should check in the meantime.

Your setup looks pretty organized! Just a heads-up, make sure to get the login details for the router and any switches. This way, you can change the passwords later. Also, it doesn't look like there's a modem for fiber included in that gear, which could be a clue that you'll need a line run to hook up to your ISP. Hopefully, they can figure it out quickly.

I appreciate the tips! I’ll definitely ask the tech for the login info.

Just hang tight for the tech guy! If you've tried all the COAX connections in your house and they're not working, it’s likely that Spectrum isn’t connected to your place yet. There’s a possibility that the previous homeowner didn’t have service set up, so keep that in mind.

From what I can see in the photo, it looks like you have a patch panel and a couple of switches. It's tough to definitively say without knowing more about those Cisco devices, but it seems like there isn't a direct connection to your ISP at the moment. The tech should be able to sort that out when they come.
