I'm putting together my first PC and would appreciate a compatibility check and general advice on the parts I've chosen. I'll mainly use it for gaming, rendering large datasets and maps, and running demanding mathematical software. I've already found cheaper prices for several components than the listed prices, so please don't judge the build entirely by the total shown. I'd especially like suggestions for reducing the budget without sacrificing important performance, and I'm unsure how much to trust the compatibility warnings.

The parts appear broadly sensible, but you can save roughly $400–$500 by shopping around and changing a few components. The motherboard seems overpriced for its feature set and doesn’t include Wi-Fi, so a better-value board with Wi-Fi would make more sense. You can also use less expensive DDR5 with the same capacity and speed, choose a cheaper version of the same GPU since different models perform very similarly, and replace the case with a less expensive option that has better airflow and several included fans. A similar-quality ATX 3.1 power supply at the same wattage can also reduce the total. You could put some of the savings toward a 2 TB high-end PCIe 4.0 SSD.
Don’t worry too much about the case choice—cases are mostly a matter of appearance, layout, noise, and airflow. Just make sure the graphics card and CPU cooler fit, the motherboard size is supported, and the case has enough intake and exhaust fans. A cheaper case with good stock airflow is usually a better buy than an expensive case that needs extra fans added later.
I wouldn’t necessarily look for cheaper versions of every part one by one. In a few cases, you can get a better-equipped component for less overall. For example, compare the cost of a reasonably priced AM5 motherboard with built-in Wi-Fi against the expensive board in the current list. Memory with tighter timings may be worthwhile if the price difference is small, but extremely expensive kits aren’t necessary for most gaming or productivity workloads. A PCIe 5.0 SSD is also unlikely to make a noticeable difference here compared with a good PCIe 4.0 drive, so prioritize capacity and value instead. An 850 W quality PSU should generally be sufficient unless the chosen graphics card has unusually high power requirements.
