Dealing with RAM Issues: Should I Stick with 3000MHz or Upgrade?

I'm having some trouble with my system where Space Marine 2 crashes unexpectedly, and I've noticed errors during MemTest86. I have a setup with 32GB of DDR4 RAM (4x8GB), a B550M TUF motherboard, and a 5700X3D processor. After lowering the RAM speed from 3600MHz to 3000MHz, things seem stable, but I'm contemplating whether I should keep it at this lower speed or invest in a new RAM kit, potentially switching to a 2x16GB configuration. MemTest86 shows errors at the higher speed, but none at 3000MHz. This is the first time I've used MemTest86 in about four years, and while I've never had issues with other games before, I want to ensure I'm doing the right thing. Any insights would be appreciated!

It sounds like your memory controller might be struggling, especially with all four sticks installed. Running at 4 sticks can be trickier due to how they interact. Have you tried setting your RAM speed to 3200MT/s? That could be a sweet middle ground to avoid errors while still getting decent performance!

Not yet! I just bought the CPU in March, so I'm wondering if there’s a reason to be worried about the stability.

The 5700X3D doesn’t gain much from high-speed RAM due to its large cache. Honestly, keeping it at 3000MHz should be fine without any issues. But if you're looking to upgrade, a 2x32GB 3600MHz kit could be a solution, although that might be overkill for your needs. What do you think about going for a 2x16GB setup instead? That might provide a better balance without overwhelming your system!

I’m currently not leaning towards a 2x32GB upgrade since I heard 4 sticks are trickier to manage. Do you think 2x16GB would work well instead?
