Hey everyone! So here's the deal: I had an HP Pavilion Gaming Laptop (15-ec2004EX) that originally came with a Ryzen 5 5600H and an NVIDIA GTX 1650. Unfortunately, my motherboard died, and I took it to a local repair shop. They fixed the motherboard, but I found out they swapped the entire setup. Now I've got a Ryzen 7 6800H and an NVIDIA T600 GPU instead.
The performance is noticeably better with the Ryzen 7, but I'm curious because the T600 is a workstation GPU, while I primarily used my laptop for gaming like Valorant and GTA V. Here are my questions:
1. Did I get scammed or is this a lowkey upgrade?
2. How does the T600 compare to the GTX 1650 for actual gaming?
3. Should I ask to get my original setup back, or is it fine to stick with this one?
4. Are there any long-term risks I should be aware of with this new build?
I only have one month of warranty left, so I want to make sure I'm not being taken advantage of. I'd really appreciate any insights from those familiar with these GPUs or who might have experienced similar situations. Thanks!

Honestly, it looks like the GPU is a step down compared to what you had. The T600 is designed for workstations, not gaming, so you might experience lower performance in games you enjoy.
The T600 actually lowers your gaming performance by about 20% when compared to the GTX 1650, so that’s a bummer. But if you think the CPU upgrade compensates, maybe it’s not all bad. Just see how your favorite games run with this new setup.
You paid for a motherboard replacement, and now you have a different setup. If the repair costs were in line with what you expected for the parts they replaced, then maybe it’s not a scam. But if you wanted a gaming laptop, you might feel that you’ve lost out in that area.
I think you got a bit of a scam going on. They should have communicated better, as swapping parts without asking is pretty shady. That being said, the Ryzen 7 is a solid upgrade! Just be aware the T600 isn't great for gaming, so it might not perform like the GTX 1650 in those scenarios.
Yeah, it seems like they didn’t fully understand what you were looking for. It might be worth discussing your concerns with them.
I wouldn’t call it totally shady, but they definitely should have informed you. At least you gained a better CPU. If everything works well and you’re okay with the performance, I’d just let it go. If not, definitely speak up about the repair. You deserve a working laptop that fits your gaming needs!
Is there any way to tweak the T600 to match the GTX 1650's performance? I’ve read that they’re somewhat comparable.
