I'm a bit puzzled about the RAM I just bought. I recently got two new motherboards: one for Intel and one for AMD, both requiring DDR5 RAM. My question is, did I buy the right one? The last time I bought RAM, I didn't know there were differences based on the CPU platform. I'm particularly curious about whether AMD and Intel require different types of RAM or just different configurations, especially regarding overclocking. Any insights?

You definitely need to get RAM that's compatible with your motherboard. But since you mentioned you're using new boards, they should support DDR5, which is good. Just make sure to double-check your specs!
Honestly, there's no such thing as RAM just for Intel or AMD. It's typically all about how it performs with each platform. However, Intel may not leverage the same speeds as AMD does for faster RAM, so keep that in mind when tweaking settings.
AMD and Intel don’t use different types of RAM per se, but different generations do require different RAM. For example, DDR4 and DDR5 are not interchangeable. If your Intel board uses DDR4 and your AMD one is DDR5, that might be where the confusion is. Providing your exact specs would help clear things up!
RAM is pretty much the same across the board; the main difference is in overclocking profiles. AMD boards can use XMP profiles (Intel's), while Intel boards can't use EXPO profiles (AMD's). As long as you bought regular DDR5, compatibility shouldn't be an issue. Just let us know what specific RAM you purchased!
Don’t worry too much; there's a 99.999% chance that it'll all work together just fine. If there’s an issue, it would be super rare! Just keep an eye on RAM speed compatibility with your new boards.
And that .001% could lead to a serious meltdown if stuff doesn’t match!

They're both new motherboards and should support DDR5.
