Did I get the wrong model of my Gigabyte RTX 4070 Gaming OC?

I just bought a Gigabyte RTX 4070 Gaming OC graphics card, and I noticed it has an 8-pin power connector. But I thought this model was supposed to come with a 12VHPWR connector. Did I end up with an older version of the card?

If you can, post a picture of your setup! Just upload it to Imgur and share the link.

Some Gigabyte 4070 models indeed come with just a single 8-pin power connector, and I'm a fan of the 8-pin setup over the newer 12V version. It's straightforward and reliable.

Can you explain why you prefer the 8-pin over the 12VHPWR?

The RTX 4070 (not Super or Ti) often comes with an 8-pin connector, so you might actually be lucky! Not all models, including some from certain manufacturers, utilize the 12VHPWR connector.

Why is that? Can you break it down for me?
