Did I Just Make a Smart Move Buying a Used 5080?

I just bought an Asus PRIME OC 5080 from Amazon for $1299.99. It's used but in good condition, sold by Amazon's resale service. Prices don't seem to be improving, and with tariffs on the horizon in late May to early June, I felt like I needed to act fast. Was this a wise investment? What are your thoughts or any advice on this decision?

Honestly, I'm a bit worried about the fact that someone is already selling a used 5080. That raises a red flag for me. Just keep in mind that with Amazon's 30-day warranty, returning it could be trickier if something goes wrong—ASUS's customer service is notorious for being difficult when it comes to RMAs.

Yeah, but sometimes people just sell them for 'golden samples' or because they want to upgrade to the latest model. Just make sure to test it thoroughly!

I got my brand new 5080 on release day for around $1400, and honestly, I think it's a solid investment if you're okay with a used one now. Just keep your expectations aligned with the fact that prices can bounce around.

Make sure to download GPU-Z and check the ROPs. It would be a bummer if you're missing some!

Buying used GPUs can be risky, especially with something so new like the 5080. I’d recommend making sure you at least have some kind of warranty for peace of mind. I bought my Zotac Gaming 5080 new for $1399 and it’s been great!

I've had pretty good luck with used hardware though—never had any issues in the past and usually sell them ahead of market shifts to get my money back or more!

You dropped $1300 for a used one? I snagged a new one from Newegg for just about the same price last week! They’re going for around $1399 now, and even as low as $1357!

I know! I figured I could return it if there are issues and then just pay the extra for a brand new one.
