Did I Make a Mistake Upgrading from a 3070 to a 5070?

I've been using my RTX 3070 with an R7 5800X3D CPU for a while now, and it's been working well for me. Recently, I decided to treat myself and bought a 5070 for $549 at Walmart, thinking it would be a nice upgrade. However, after getting home and checking out reviews, I noticed a lot of negative feedback about the 5070, which made me second-guess my decision. I play games mostly at 1440p with a new 144Hz monitor and I've heard the 5070 should handle that fine, but I'm wondering if it was a poor choice on my part or if I should stick with this card. With some other graphics cards being either hard to find or overpriced, I thought the 5070 was a decent deal. Should I return it or is it a good enough upgrade for now?

Honestly, don't worry too much! The 5070 is a solid card for 1440p gaming, and at the price you got it for, it's a great deal. The 12GB VRAM will serve you well for modern titles. The criticisms you've read are a bit exaggerated; it's worth it as long as you're not paying more than MSRP. Just enjoy your new present!
