I recently attempted to update the BIOS on my X570 Aorus Elite motherboard after about three years without any updates. I didn't consider whether I should do incremental updates first. The update process completed, but now I only see a black screen when I turn on my computer. I can power on the computer, but I can't turn it off without unplugging the power cord. Interestingly, the motherboard lights aren't on, although the fan is spinning, indicating that it's getting power. Am I facing a bricked motherboard?

Unfortunately, this motherboard doesn't have a dual BIOS feature, so you'll have to rely on Q-Flash Plus to reset to an older BIOS version. Just a heads up, dealing with Q-Flash Plus can be tricky, so hopefully, the first method works for you. If you skipped several BIOS updates, you might need to follow a specific order for the updates to work properly. If you remember the last version that worked for you, start with that one using Q-Flash Plus.
Have you checked if there were any specific requirements for the update? Sometimes, you need to perform BIOS updates incrementally rather than going for the latest version directly.
You might need to clear the CMOS memory and reset it. This can help if the update required a staged approach, as the new version sometimes expects settings that aren't compatible with the old configuration. Luckily, since you have the X570 Aorus Elite, it has a no-CPU BIOS flash option. You could re-flash the BIOS without needing to boot into UEFI. Just make sure you have a USB stick ready and access to another device to download the necessary files.
That's really good to know! Do you have a link or steps for how to do the re-flash with Q-Flash Plus? I might end up needing that soon!
Where are you getting that update order from? I couldn't find anything in the manual about it, but maybe I missed something.
